Yahra's Story - Prologue The small girl sat in front of the window, legs crossed, back erect. Her red hair flowed down her back, ending half-way. She wore a white cloak, the hood hidden underneath her silky-smooth hair. Her green eyes scanned the field outside, taking in every detail, every sound. Not that there was much to take in. Just a tree, some bushes, and the ridiculously tall wild grass. But she wanted to know it by heart, so she could recreate it in a drawing while bored. She'd drawn every room in the secluded house; now she wanted to focus on natural things. As she focused on the goings-on of outside, she had a prickling feeling on the back of her neck, as if she were being watched. The hairs on the back of her neck stood up, alerting her. Feeling a presence in the room, she turned around. Before she could scream, the thing lunged at her, and she fainted.
